This policy explains how Shikaar AI collects, uses and shares information when you use our website, browser extension and related services (the "Service"). It applies whether or not you have an account.
Information you provide. Account and contact details, your resume and any other documents or text you upload, saved application details such as location, work authorisation, notice period and compensation expectations, notes you write, and anything you send us directly.
Information about your use of the Service. Searches you run, roles you view, save, score, tailor for or mark as applied, documents generated for you, features you use, and the pages and actions that make up a session.
Technical and device information. Identifiers stored in your browser or device, IP address, browser and device characteristics, approximate location derived from them, and similar diagnostic data.
We may combine information from these sources, and we use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, preferences, security and measurement.
We use information to provide, operate, secure, personalise, analyse and improve the Service; to rank and recommend roles; to generate documents and answers you request; to develop new and existing features; to communicate with you about the Service; to prevent fraud, abuse and misuse; and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Measuring how the Service is used — including what people search for and what they do with the results — is how we judge whether it is doing its job, and it informs how we build and improve it.
Service providers. We use third parties to host, operate, secure, analyse and support the Service, and they may process information on our behalf for those purposes.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information where we believe it is required by law or necessary to protect our rights, our users or the public.
Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
At your direction. When you use the Service to prepare an application, you decide what is submitted and to whom.
We do not sell your personal information.
Ranking, tailoring and drafting are performed using large language models operated by our providers under enterprise terms that prohibit using customer data to train their models. Your resume and the relevant job text are processed for that purpose.
Automated output can be inaccurate. Review anything generated for you before relying on it or submitting it.
The Shikaar extension is optional. It carries documents and answers you have already generated in the Service to an employer's application form. It stores that material locally in your browser, transmits nothing on its own, cannot act on a page until you click its icon there, and never submits an application.
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to run and improve the Service, and to meet legal, security and record-keeping requirements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and how it is used. Account content is retained until you delete your account.
You can review and update your information in the Service, download a copy of your account data, and delete your account at any time under Profile → Your data. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your information, including access, correction, deletion and objection; contact us to exercise them.
You can control cookies through your browser, and clearing your browser data resets identifiers stored there.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest and restricted internal access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We operate internationally and information may be processed in countries other than your own, under appropriate safeguards.
The Service is intended for people seeking professional work and is not directed to anyone under 16.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
